Les raisins sont cultiv\u00e9s en agriculture biologique sans produits chimiques ni engrais de synth\u00e8se. Nous n’utilisons pas d’insecticides ni de d\u00e9sherbants.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Les maladies fongiques comme o\u00efdium et mildiou sont maitris\u00e9es avec du soufre et un peu de cuivre. L’extrait d’orange est \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s efficace lorsqu’il est bien utilis\u00e9. La plupart des traitements sont effectu\u00e9es par tracteur. Cependant si le sol est humide, le traitement se fait \u00e0 la main pour \u00e9viter le compactage du sol.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

La principale menace d’insectes est le ver de grappe. On le contr\u00f4le gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des petites attaches \u00e9mettrices de ph\u00e9romones que l\u2019on fixe \u00e0 intervalles r\u00e9guliers dans tout le vignoble. Ces ph\u00e9romones provoquent une confusion sexuelle chez les papillons nocturnes et limitent la reproduction.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The vineyards are farmed organically using no synthetic sprays or fertilizers. We do not use insecticides or weedkiller.<\/p>\n

Fungal diseases are controlled by spraying with sulphur and some copper. Extract of orange is also very effective when used sparingly. Most sprays are carried out by tractor. However if the soil is wet, spraying is done by hand to avoid compaction.<\/p>\n

The main insect threat is the larva of the grapevine moth. It is controlled by small, pheromone-emitting ties which are attached at regular intervals throughout the vineyard. These pheromones cause sexual confusion in moths and limit reproduction.<\/p>\n

Le d\u00e9sherbage se fait manuellement en labourant dans les rang\u00e9es au printemps et en d\u00e9broussaillant sous les vignes. Certaines mauvaises herbes sont OK ! Elles ne sont un probl\u00e8me que si elles utilisent l’eau des vignes pendant les ann\u00e9es s\u00e8ches ou s’ils envahissent le feuillage et cr\u00e9ent de l’humidit\u00e9.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Un compost \u00e0 base de mati\u00e8res v\u00e9g\u00e9tales ou de fumier est rajout\u00e9 aux vignes tous les deux ans pour am\u00e9liorer la structure du sol. Pour maintenir la fertilit\u00e9 du sol, des engrais organiques \u00e0 base de guano, de plumes d\u2019oiseau et de mati\u00e8res v\u00e9g\u00e9tales sont utilis\u00e9s si besoin.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Weeds are removed manually by ploughing between the rows in Spring and strimming underneath the vines. Some weeds are OK! They are only a problem if they compete with the vines for water during dry years or if they crowd the leaf canopy and create humidity.<\/p>\n

Compost made from plant matter or manure is added to the vineyards every second year to improve soil structure. To maintain soil fertility, organic fertilizers made from guano, chicken feathers and plant matter are used when required.<\/p>\n

Au sein des producteurs bio, l’accent est mis sur les pratiques dans le vignoble. Il existe certaines proc\u00e9dures et ajouts qui ne sont pas autoris\u00e9s dans la production de vin biologique, mais comme nous avons tendance \u00e0 \u00eatre assez non interventionnistes dans la cave, nous ne les utiliserions pas de toute fa\u00e7on. Dans l’UE, les niveaux autoris\u00e9s de dioxyde de soufre total, un conservateur utilis\u00e9 dans la vinification, sont inf\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 ceux du vin non biologique.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Nous avons toujours cultiv\u00e9 les vignes en agriculture biologique mais nous n’avons que r\u00e9cemment demand\u00e9 la certification bio. Le Domaine La Tasque sera certifi\u00e9 biologique par Ecocert \u00e0 partir de 2022.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In making organic wine the main emphasis is on practices in the vineyard. There are certain procedures and additions that are not permitted in the production of organic wine but as we tend to be pretty non-interventionist in the winery, we wouldn’t use them anyway. In the EU permitted levels of total sulphur dioxide, a preservative used in winemaking, are lower than for non-organic wine.<\/p>\n

We have always farmed the vineyards organically but have only recently sought organic certification. Domaine La Tasque will be certified organic by Ecocert from 2022.<\/p>\n
